Food Stamps Run Dry, War Chests Overflow
The mainstream narrative frames this humanitarian crisis as a partisan spat over a depleted 'well.' What they omit is that this 'well' for our most vulnerable somehow evaporates while another gushes freely for military excursions. Just last month, Congress approved a foreign aid package. For instance, Rep. Johnson, who received $100,000 from AIPAC in 2023 ( OpenSecrets ), voted for the $14 billion
in additional military aid to Israel, precisely days before the food stamp 'crisis' materializes. Funny how some wells never run dry. So, while 43 million American families tighten their belts, our elected officials manage to find endless billions for bombs and bullets abroad. One might wonder if the 'well' running dry for poor Americans is less about fiscal reality and more about political
priorities. Perhaps the USDA should check the couch cushions of defense contractors, they seem to be doing just fine.
