Flooded Tents in Gaza: Another Day, Another US Green Light
Children in Gaza are desperately trying to sweep floodwater from makeshift tents. (Al Jazeera, 2025/12/13). Meanwhile, the U.S. continues to provide billions in military aid, including, as recently as March 2024, an emergency arms package containing 1,800 MK84 2,000-pound bombs from the Biden administration without congressional approval, according to the Wall Street Journal. These are the same
bombs that Human Rights Watch (2023) documented Israel using in densely populated areas of Gaza, creating the very conditions that lead to mass displacement and makeshift tent cities. One might wonder how many more 'expressions of concern' the White House will issue while simultaneously ensuring the arsenal for suffering remains fully stocked.
