Fetterman Declares Democrats 'Own' SNAP Fight. (They Own Other Things, Too.)

This sentiment, however, doesn't seem to extend to military aid for foreign nations. While families face hunger, the bipartisan appetite for billions in overseas military spending remains voracious. Just recently, the Senate approved HR 815 , an aid package including $14.1
billion for Israel—a bill that saw Fetterman receive $29,000 from pro-Israel groups in 2022 . It appears some 'ownership' is more pressing than others. When SNAP benefits hang in the balance, it's 'on us.' But when $14 billion in aid flies out the door to a country with universal healthcare and a robust social safety net, suddenly the hunger at home is a Republican problem. The only consistency is
the endless spigot for war, while domestic programs are held hostage. Priorities, indeed.
