Families Return to Gaza Rubble as US Quietly Approves More Bombs
As exhausted families trudge back to Gaza City, bravely seeking fragments of their former lives amidst the rubble as seen on Al Jazeera (Al Jazeera, October 10, 2025), a different kind of rebuilding is happening back in Washington. Representatives like Senator Chris Van Hollen, who publicly calls for protecting civilians, just recently voted to continue sending military aid to Israel, including
precision-guided munitions (S. 3330, HR 815), according to his own voting record and OpenSecrets.org which shows his campaign received over $50,000 from pro-Israel PACs over the last election cycle (OpenSecrets.org, 'Chris Van Hollen', 2024). So while Gazans return to ghost cities, wondering where their next meal or safe night's sleep will come from, their destruction is funded by US taxpayer
dollars and facilitated by politicians who parrot humanitarian concerns on one hand, and sign off on billions in military aid on the other. How many 'ceasefires' will it take before the world stops accepting half-measures and starts demanding accountability for the architects of perpetual conflict?
