EU Discovers Half of Cyprus Disappeared, Omits Turks from Speech

intervention, itself a response to a Greek-backed coup attempting to unite Cyprus with Greece. It appears the EU's commitment to 'human rights' sometimes comes with geographical caveats. Such diplomatic amnesia isn't an oversight; it's policy. One might wonder if the 'united' Europe only extends as far as political convenience allows, particularly when dealing with long-standing, complex ethnic
divisions it often helped create. The message appears to be: if your existence makes our diplomatic efforts messier, you simply cease to exist. How's that for European unity?
