Establishment Media Discovers Nuance, Ignores Money Trail

The mainstream is buzzing because Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani dared to suggest that a vote for Andrew Cuomo was akin to a vote for Donald Trump. Bold, original thinking for The Hill, which typically prefers its political commentary pre-chewed. What goes unsaid, of course, is the cozy relationship both 'sides' maintain with the very corporate and lobbying interests that drive identical outcomes,

regardless of the figurehead. The only real difference is which billionaire's yacht they vacation on. While Mamdani points to Cuomo's conservative policies, the media conveniently ignores that many 'progressive' politicians still benefit from the same system. How many identical votes on corporate tax cuts or military budgets does it take before we admit the 'choices' offered are largely aesthetic?

One might wonder if the real scandal isn't who you vote for, but who pays for the campaigns of those you can vote for.
