El-Fasher 'Ethnic Attacks' Remind Us Which Countries Get Media Outrage
While any ethnic cleansing is abhorrent, one might notice that when the Rapid Support Forces (RSF)—a militia with no strong ties to US-backed interests—commits such atrocities, the phrase 'ethnic attacks' appears readily in headlines. Yet, when similar patterns of displacement and violence are reported concerning, say, the Gaza Strip, the terminology tends to soften to 'self-defense' or
'evacuation orders.' Curious, isn't it? The media's moral compass appears to swing wildly based on who's holding the military-industrial complex's political IOU. There’s a certain tragic consistency: some ethnic violence is condemnable, others are simply 'unfortunate consequences.' How many 'tragedies' get this kind of unflinching language, and how many are meticulously reframed?
