What they omit, however, is the consistent financial and military backing—namely, the $3.8 billion in annual U.S. aid that lubricates Israel’s military machine, ensuring these 'strikes' are well-funded. (For instance, HR 815, passed in April 2024,
included an additional $14 billion for Israeli defense.) This isn't 'conflict.' This is a power imbalance sustained by global complicity. While DW counts the dead, they rarely question the endless supply chain of F-35 fighter jets and precision-guided munitions (often U.S.-made, funded by American taxpayers). One might wonder: how many 'fresh strikes' does it take before we acknowledge the source
of the weapons, rather than just the body count?
