We're meant to be horrified by rogue individuals, but collective, systematic violence gets
framed as 'self-defense' or 'complex conflict.' (The double standard is so thick you could carve it with a dull spoon.) One might wonder if the outrage would be amplified if those snipers had simply declared their actions were for 'security' before taking foreign cash.
