One might wonder if their historical outrage is selective, dependent on the geopolitical convenience of the perpetrator. It appears the journalistic lens at DW only focuses keenly on past injustices when they can safely condemn a long-defeated enemy. The 'unprecedented
escalation' of settler violence and military actions, often supported by Western aid and arms, seems to elude their grasp for equivalent moral condemnation. After all, why complicate a clear narrative of historical evil with the messy reality of present-day, state-sanctioned brutality against an occupied population?
