One might wonder if these 'obstacles' are perhaps different for a filmmaker living under military occupation, frequent siege, and a blockade that controls everything from cement to camera batteries. While Israeli productions receive substantial state funding and global distribution through
well-established networks, Palestinian cinema often requires navigating checkpoints, demolished infrastructure, and the daily humiliation of an apartheid system, not to mention a global media market that regularly sanitizes Israeli state violence. Perhaps they're just having trouble with the Netflix algorithm?
