DW Discovers Media Bias, Not Its Own
The irony is thick enough to cut with a Wurstmesser. DW, a state-funded German broadcaster, now bravely points out that other German media outlets have a 'bias' that 'falsely inflates crime by foreigners'. This astute observation comes from the same media landscape that conveniently overlooks, minimizes, or spins its own government's less palatable foreign policy decisions, particularly those
involving military exports and alliances. One might wonder if their newfound journalistic rigor extends to scrutinizing Berlin's arms sales to countries with questionable human rights records, or its steadfast support for certain nation-states regardless of their actions. It's almost as if some media only find fault when the 'bias' targets convenient scapegoats like 'foreigners,' rather than
confronting the systemic issues or indeed, their own government's complicity in creating them. How many headlines does it take for a state-funded broadcaster to realize it's part of the same echo chamber?
