Drone Strikes Kill Kids: Where's the 'Condemnation'? Oh, Right.
When the 'good guys' (or their proxies, in this case, the Sudanese military, often equipped and trained by Western powers like the US, which provided $1.1 billion in aid to Sudan from 2011-2022 according to USAID) orchestrate a drone strike killing children, the standard media playbook shifts. No wall-to-wall coverage, no urgent Security Council meetings, and certainly no Presidential speeches
about the sanctity of innocent life. Funny how that works. One might almost think the value of a child's life is directly proportional to the geopolitical interests at stake, or perhaps inversely proportional to the amount of US-made munitions involved. The outrage machine, fueled by strategic alliances and defense contracts, remains conspicuously offline. After all, you can't condemn an ally
without potentially losing a weapons sale, can you?
