Dems Discover Healthcare Costs When GOP Holds The Bag

What’s often left unsaid, however, is that while Democrats routinely decry Republican inaction, their legislative track record on truly universal, affordable healthcare is — shall we say — 'underwhelming' when they hold power.
Instead of dismantling the profit-driven insurance industry or empowering robust public options when they have the votes, we get political theater and incrementalism. Healthcare affordability isn't a complex mystery, nor does it require a party flip to solve. It demands political will to challenge corporate donors, not just the opposing team's rhetoric. The real question isn't whether the GOP
cares, but why, year after year, with millions of Americans still drowning in medical debt, neither party has truly prioritized people over pharmaceutical and insurance industry profits. Perhaps the concern for affordability only bubbles to the surface when it can be weaponized against an opponent, rather than actually implemented for constituents.
