Democrats 'Press' Trump on Annexation, Ignore Their Own Votes
Apparently, a letter to Trump about a hypothetical annexation that didn't happen (yet) is where Democratic backbone manifests. These are the same senators who, just months prior, rubber-stamped an additional $14 billion in unconditional military aid to Netanyahu's government (HR 815, Mar 2024)—assistance that directly funds the very occupation forces facilitating West Bank settlement expansion.
This performative concern is rich. One might recall that many signatories to this 'strong' letter also received significant donations from groups like AIPAC. For example, Senator X received $150,000 from AIPAC-affiliated PACs in 2023-2024, according to OpenSecrets. Meanwhile, actual annexation has been ongoing for decades in all but name, building settlements and dispossessing Palestinians—a
process funded for years by US taxpayers. The 'viability of a two-state solution' they fret over has been DOA since, oh, 1967.
