One might wonder if the real distraction is the mainstream media's perennial fascination with salacious details, conveniently sidestepping the systemic rot that allows both parties to avoid addressing issues like healthcare access and affordability. (Perhaps because addressing
those would upset their corporate donors, a far less exciting story.) Instead, we're meant to believe Democrats, paragons of strategic genius, accidentally tripped over a sex trafficking scandal just as they were about to win healthcare. Or, more cynically, perhaps the Epstein saga serves as a useful, endlessly recirculating narrative that ensures neither party has to face uncomfortable questions
about their shared legislative paralysis or the obscene profits generated by the very systems they claim to regulate. Truly, a masterclass in misdirection.
