Democrats Condemn Islamophobia, Approve Islamophobia, Citing Proximity to Election
When GOP figures like Randy Fine and Tommy Tuberville float wholesale demonization and deportation of Muslims post-shooting, Democrats are quick to issue condemnations, as reported by The Guardian. Yet, where's the outcry when the very same legislative body approves massive aid packages to a government that repeatedly uses similar dehumanizing tropes to justify actions against Palestinians? This
selective morality makes one question if their outrage is principled, or merely strategic. The media rarely connect these dots. While railing against domestic Islamophobia, the same politicians and pundits often champion policies that contribute to the ongoing dehumanization and displacement of Muslims abroad. It seems some condemnations are reserved for American politicians acting out, never for
foreign policy choices that greenlight far more egregious 'deportations' or 'citizenship revocations' by other means.
