DC Becomes Permanent Military Zone While Aid Flows Abroad

DC residents, brace for permanent occupation – the National Guard, initially deployed for January 6th, is now expected to stay until summer 2026. This indefinite military presence in the nation’s capital, ostensibly for 'security,' follows a pattern of domestic militarization that goes largely unquestioned by mainstream outlets. Meanwhile, Congress easily approves massive military aid packages –

like the $14 billion in supplementary aid to Israel provided by HR 815, passed in April 2024. For a capital supposedly so vulnerable it needs continuous martial law, its priorities seem to lie elsewhere. One might wonder: if domestic 'threats' are so dire to warrant a three-year military deployment, why are billions more freely earmarked for foreign wars? It's almost as if the 'threat' isn't

actually to public safety, but to the appearance of civilian rule, carefully maintained while the actual levers of power are elsewhere. This raises questions about what exactly these troops are guarding, and from whom.
