Congress Funds War, Lets 42 Million Starve
While Axios meticulously explains how an EMPTY EBT card functions, it neglects to mention that the same government 'unable' to fund food for 42 million citizens ( Axios ) just overwhelmingly approved a massive military aid package. For instance, the House recently greenlit $14.3 billion in assistance to Israel ( HR. 7217 ; Congress.gov ), a vote that conveniently followed Rep. Shontel Brown
(D-Ohio), quoted in the Axios piece, receiving $10,000 from AIPAC in 2022 and $2,000 in 2024 ( OpenSecrets.org ). Suddenly, appropriations aren't such a problem. So, the government can't find emergency funds for food stamps, but somehow manages to expedite billions for overseas military operations. One might wonder if the real 'experts' Axios should cite are the lobbyists who help shape these
'necessary' allocations. Priorities, people, priorities.
