A sudden fervor for accountability, one might think. Yet, this newfound investigative zeal evaporates when questions arise about, say, the $14 billion in aid to a foreign
government currently facing genocide charges at the ICJ. No urgent letters then. It appears Congressional oversight is a highly selective tool, wielded cautiously to avoid subjects that might upset lucrative donor relations or expose inconvenient geopolitical truths. Focusing on a dead pedophile’s client list is a safe, bipartisan sport, generating headlines without risking a single AIPAC donation
or defense contractor share price. One wonders if they'll find time for the 40,000 dead civilians in Gaza between these pressing Epstein updates.
