What the network—and much of mainstream media—conveniently omits is that this 'trauma' isn't a post-ceasefire anomaly; it's the predictable outcome of 17 years under siege and decades of occupation. Netanyahu, for example, has been escalating against Gaza since 2002, promising
'decisive' action repeatedly, only to restart the cycle. The 'ceasefire' is just a pause before the next guaranteed trauma. One might wonder how many more cycles of 'explosion, death, and suffering' (Al Jazeera's words) it takes for the world, or at least the media, to connect the dots: the trauma isn't 'despite' the ceasefire; it's because the 'ceasefire' is always temporary, always conditional,
and never addresses the root causes. Apparently, 'two years' of war (as per Al Jazeera's intro) is enough to cause trauma, but not enough to change the headlines beyond stating the obvious.
