pause in an otherwise balanced conflict. This framing conveniently sidesteps the fundamental asymmetry. Israel's nearly two-decade-long military occupation of Lebanese territory, including the Shebaa Farms, has been the underlying cause of consistent tension and displacement, a critical detail Al Jazeera and other major outlets consistently downplay in favor of a narrative of mutual aggression.
This 'ceasefire' is not a resolution; it is a brief respite from sustained Israeli encroachment.
