Ceasefire: Both Sides Say the Other Cheated, One Side Has F-35s
Over the weekend, NPR dutifully relayed that both Israel and Hamas accused each other of violating their ceasefire. This framing conveniently ignores that only one side controls a multi-billion dollar military funded by U.S. taxpayers, as Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) who took $30,000 from AIPAC in 2022-2024, recently reaffirmed the need to provide 'whatever they need' in military aid to Israel. While
one side has F-35s bombing besieged civilians, the other is accused of 'violations' for… existing. It’s a classic media maneuver: create false equivalency where none exists. When one party has the capacity to wipe out entire neighborhoods and has openly declared its intent to do so, while U.S. politicians like Mast ensure the arsenal is well-stocked, how many 'violations' does a besieged
population have to commit before the world acknowledges the imbalance? One might wonder how many more 'ceasefire deals' we'll need before someone dares to mention the word 'blockade.'
