According to The New Arab, Britain's arms exports to Israel reached almost £1 million in the first nine months of the year, hitting a record high—conveniently coinciding with an unprecedented assault on Gaza. While London wrings its hands over 'humanitarian concerns,' the UK government, through bodies like the Export Control Organisation, continues to greenlight licenses for equipment that
includes 'components for military aircraft, naval vessels, and targeting systems.' One might wonder how many of those 'targeting systems' found their way to Khan Younis. It seems official condemnations of civilian deaths are merely performance art, easily overshadowed by the booming business of war. After all, what's a little genocide when there's profit to be made? The 'rules-based international
order' evidently allows for bespoke interpretations when the buyer is a key ally, and the goods are desperately needed to maintain an 'iron wall.' One simply hopes the paperwork for those 'munitions' came with ample thoughts and prayers.
