Bloomberg Discovers Trump Wants to Enforce Immigration Laws
The Bloomberg piece solemnly warns that Trump is 'slashing the ranks' of immigration judges to 'speed up deportations.' The horror! A presidential administration attempting to execute its declared policy objectives. It’s almost as if the previous administrations, which also sought to control immigration— albeit with a softer PR touch—were just as committed to deportations, just less transparently
so. Remember the Obama years? Don't pretend efficiency in processing cases, however draconian the policy, is a novel concept here; it's simply a shift from bureaucratic molasses to a slightly faster-flowing syrup. The media, however, prefers to frame any increase in efficiency (when it serves a policy they dislike) as a nefarious plot. Perhaps the 'purge' is simply the deep state finally getting a
taste of its own medicine by having its slow-walked processes expedited. Or maybe, just maybe, it's a president trying to deliver on campaign promises, irrespective of whether those promises align with the prevailing media narrative of judicial 'independence' from elected officials.
