We're expected to furrow our brows over a 'shrinking lead' for the U.S.-approved choice, rather than question why the U.S. is meddling in Honduran internal affairs at all. One might wonder if Bloomberg would afford the same diligent scrutiny, or
indeed, the same level of concern for 'shrinking leads,' if the U.S. preferred candidate for Honduras was actually, say, a 'borderline democrat' and the challenger was a staunch capitalist, without the 'Trump-backed' label providing convenient geopolitical shorthand.
