Bishops 'Concerned' by Far-Right Rally, Silent on Gaza Starvation
The New Arab reports UK bishops are 'gravely concerned' by an upcoming far-right 'Christmas' rally, fearing the misuse of Christian imagery for anti-migrant rhetoric. It's truly shocking that extremists would co-opt religious symbols, isn't it? (Especially when the UK government is still exporting weapons to a conflict creating millions of new migrants, including in Gaza where Christians are among
those being annihilated.) One might wonder where this 'grave concern' was when British-manufactured bombs were reportedly used in Gaza, where hospitals become targets, and civilians, many of them Christian, face starvation. Or perhaps the far-right's 'rhetoric' is just easier to condemn than the actual, tangible, arms deals that enable mass death. After all, condemning a 'rally' doesn't require
questioning government policy or, heaven forbid, actual foreign policy involvement.
