Biden Admin Clarifies: 'Limbo' Only Applies to Palestinians
While Al Jazeera responsibly highlights the ongoing struggle to 'live amid Israel's attacks,' one might wonder if US media could use stronger verbs than 'struggle.' The 'limbo' of Gaza, where homes are destroyed and futures extinguished, is actively funded by US taxpayer dollars. In April 2024, Congress passed, and President Biden signed, an aid package including $17 billion in military aid to
Israel —this on top of the annual $3.8 billion. Senator Lindsey Graham, who received $218,850 from pro-Israel groups in the 2022 election cycle , even compared the situation to Hiroshima and Nagasaki , seemingly endorsing such tactics. So, while Palestinians are indeed stuck in 'limbo,' the US defense industry and its political patrons are cruising comfortably. Maybe it's not 'limbo' for everyone;
perhaps it's just a tragic demonstration of who holds the strings, and to whom 'struggle' is merely a footnote.
