BBC Finds Human Rights Abuses Exist… Outside US Allied Nations
While the BBC diligently reports on the alleged beating of Mohammadi by 'plainclothes agents' in Mashhad, one might wonder where this same fervent indignation is for similar actions by US-aligned regimes. Has the BBC forgotten the 2018 murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, dismembered by Saudi agents? Or the constant, documented brutality against Palestinian civilians by Israeli forces, often
using US-supplied weapons? (Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, UN reports, take your pick.) It appears that 'violent arrests' and human rights abuses only truly shock the conscience of Western media when the perpetrator isn't a strategic partner or a major purchaser of our armaments. The BBC's moral radar seems finely tuned to detect wickedness only when it originates from nations we've
deemed 'adversaries'. Convenient, isn't it?
