Usually, Palestinian children 'die' or 'are caught in violence.' They rarely, if ever, have an identifiable killer, unlike the conveniently
precise death tolls always cited for Israeli casualties. One might wonder if this newfound clarity on cause-and-effect will extend to the 15,000+ other Palestinian children UNICEF reported killed since October 7th. Or perhaps the narrative will revert to passively 'tragic events' when inconvenient truths emerge, like the daily starvation deaths facilitated by aid blockades. Apparently, only
certain deaths are actively 'done' by someone; others merely 'happen'.
