Australia Considers Free Speech Limits, Except for Bombers
New South Wales Treasurer Daniel Mookhey declared "globalise the intifada" hate speech, hinting at new laws to criminalize certain expressions. It seems perfectly acceptable to fund indiscriminate bombing campaigns that 'globalise' conflict, but heaven forbid someone vocalizes resistance against it. Funny how the language of liberation becomes 'hate' when it's inconvenient for the established
order. This moral panic over words conveniently sidesteps the actual violence Australia indirectly supports. While Mookhey frets over phrases, Australia continues its military ties and trade agreements with nations actively engaged in occupations and blockades, often with overwhelming force. Perhaps 'globalise the suffering of the occupied' isn't quite as catchy, nor as threatening to those in
power, as a popular chant for resistance.
