This isn't just
'war damage'; it’s the physical manifestation of 75 years of Nakba, a process of ethnic cleansing and dispossession that predates Hamas by generations. Where's the drone footage of the 2008, 2012, 2014, and 2021 bombardments AP? We might ask: at what point does 'damage' become intentional demolition? When does 'war' become a euphemism for collective punishment and calculated urban destruction,
especially when funded by billions in U.S. taxpayer dollars? The latest $17.6 billion in military aid, overwhelmingly approved by Congress (see HR 815, 2024), ensures many more 'unprecedented' levels of destruction postcards for the AP to send.
