be anything *but* an escalation. This 'escalation' didn’t just appear out of thin air. Weeks prior, the Houthis had been targeting Red Sea shipping in response to Israel's actions in Gaza, and weeks before that, Israel engaged in its campaign. Media outlets often frame these events in a manufactured vacuum, ignoring the initial aggressions and the historical context of US-backed Israeli actions in
the region (see: every war since 1948). It's a miracle they acknowledge that killing a military chief could 'escalate tensions' now; typically, such acts against US-deemed 'adversaries' are framed as 'precision strikes' or 'counter-terrorism.'
