This is not merely a gaffe or an unfortunate oversight. This is a
deliberate, if perhaps crude, attempt to inject historical trauma into the political bloodstream, not for education or reconciliation, but for inflammatory spectacle. The assassination of Dr. King on April 4, 1968, was a profound national wound, a culmination of systemic violence against a movement striving for fundamental human rights. To reduce this tragedy to a political stunt is to actively
participate in the degradation of collective memory and to sanction a dangerous reinterpretation of the past.
