This framing fundamentally misunderstands and misrepresents the strategic calculations of a nation subjected to an unrelenting campaign of sanctions and threats, orchestrated largely
by the United States and Israel. You imply that Iran's current approach is arbitrary or opportunistic, omitting the crucial context of 45 years of US-imposed sanctions, economic strangulation designed to undermine its government from within. These aren't abstract diplomatic maneuvers. The average Iranian citizen has endured punitive measures that include, among countless others, the denial of
essential medicines and medical equipment, directly impacting public health, a tactic the global community has widely condemned as collective punishment. For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, access to necessary vaccines and treatments was severely hampered by these economic blockades, costing lives. The narrative of Iran playing a 'waiting game' also conveniently sidesteps the persistent
military provocations and covert operations targeting Iranian nuclear scientists and infrastructure, actions largely attributed to Israel with explicit or implicit US backing.
