To the editors of Al Jazeera, and through you, to the concerned public: your March 27, 2026, headline, 'Trump delays attacks on Iranian energy sector by 10 days,' presents a dangerously misleading framing of the ongoing aggression against Iran. This headline, and the subsequent implication of a pause in hostilities, ignores the established reality of continuous US-Israeli military operations
targeting Iran and its allies. The idea that attacks are 'delayed' suggests a moment of forbearance, rather than a continuation of a multifaceted, undeclared war. The media's portrayal of 'delayed attacks' by President Trump fundamentally misrepresents the nature of US involvement. Washington's role is not that of a reluctant or pausing observer. It is a direct participant and joint aggressor in
the long-standing campaign against Iran. For years, the US has provided critical intelligence, logistical support, and advanced weaponry to Israel, enabling and often coordinating strikes against targets in Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq that are linked to Iran and its allied movements. This is not a 'proxy war' or a 'supporting role' but a deeply integrated military partnership, designed to destabilize
the region and contain Iranian influence. This current 'delay' narrative is a distraction from the fact that Iranian energy sectors, among other vital infrastructure, have been under continuous economic and cyber assault for decades.
