This isn't a reaction to slumping demand; it's a strategic move, conveniently dubbed 'taking advantage of AI to transform work.' Call us cynical, but this looks suspiciously like capital using new tech to ratchet up

exploitation and maximize profits, not a sudden revelation of efficiency. The media frames it as an inevitable evolution, ignoring decades of corporate greed where 'efficiency' and 'restructuring' always mean fewer jobs for the same (or increased) output. Remember when 'globalization' outsourced American jobs? Now 'AI' will automate them. The stock market is surging, GDP growth is robust, but

somehow, workers always pay the price. One might wonder if the 'healthy pre-pandemic job market' everyone pines for was actually healthy for anyone other than shareholders.
