Yet, this reliable unreliability, this constant state of global destabilization, has been US foreign policy for decades. WMDs? The US isn't 'unreliable' in its commitment to military intervention and backing particular interests. It's reliably unpredictable for anyone who isn't a defense contractor. While Politico frets over poll numbers, the Department of Defense continues to approve record-breaking arms sales, and Congress debates billions more in 'aid' that often translates directly to weapons for endless wars.
The allies may be wary, but their defense budgets are still feeding the beast.
