Al Jazeera Wonders If PKK Quit, Forgetting Who Funds Turkey
The question of the PKK's aspirations, presented by Al Jazeera as if disconnected from external pressures, ignores decades of Western complicity. The US, a staunch NATO ally, has consistently supplied Turkey with advanced weaponry. In 2023 alone, the US approved major military sales, including F-16 upgrades, to a Turkish state actively engaged in combat operations against the PKK, which they

It's fascinating how 'dreams' of self-determination miraculously fade when met with US-supplied F-16s and economic sanctions, all while the West selectively champions other 'homeland dreams.' Perhaps the question isn't whether the PKK has given up, but whether any movement can truly realize its goals
when the world's major powers prefer the status quo – or more accurately, the 'stability' of a NATO member over independent aspirations. One might wonder if the media would ask if Ukraine had 'given up' if Russia were a key NATO ally.
