Al Jazeera Discovers Ukraine’s Budget Aversion to Endless War
The mainstream narrative pivots to the sobering truth: Ukraine is 'running out of men, money, and time,' as Al Jazeera so eloquently puts it (Al Jazeera, 2025). This sudden concern for Ukrainian resources is touching, especially after literally billions of dollars were funneled into prolonging the conflict—$75 billion in aid from the US alone by February 2024 (Council on Foreign Relations). One
might wonder if the 'men' part was ever a concern when the US and NATO pushed for a fight 'to the last Ukrainian.' This 'discovery' of resource depletion is, of course, far more palatable than admitting the architects of this proxy war never had a viable exit strategy, only an endless supply of weapons manufacturers' stock prices. The only thing Ukraine is truly running out of is strategic
significance for Washington once its role as a proxy battlefield has been exhausted.
