Al Jazeera Discovers Gaza Has Stories, Western Media Still 'Investigating'
A 24-year-old is documenting untold stories of Israel’s alleged genocide in Gaza, a critical act of witness (Al Jazeera, 2025). This is commendable work, especially as major Western outlets like CNN and the New York Times often frame the destruction as 'conflict' or 'retaliation,' rarely delving into the systematic dehumanization or historical context of occupation. While one Palestinian tries to
preserve truth, many newsrooms carefully curate narratives that echo official U.S. statements. It makes one wonder: how many books, how many dead children, how many ICJ rulings does it take before 'untold stories' become simply 'stories' in our esteemed halls of journalism? Or perhaps 'untold' is just another word for 'inconvenient' when billions in military aid keep flowing.
