But the story's geographical focus on 'Deir Az Zor' conspicuously overlooks a critical detail: a significant portion of Deir Az Zor province, including its lucrative oil fields, remains under effective US military occupation,
via their proxies. These are the same oil fields that former President Trump infamously stated, 'We're keeping the oil,' back in 2019. One might wonder why a major news outlet, covering an incident in this precise region, would fail to mention the foreign military presence controlling the local resources. Is it merely an oversight, or the media's subtle way of sanitizing the geopolitical realities
that contribute to regional instability? How many 'terrorist attacks' in resource-rich zones mysteriously occur without ever implicating the long-term, uninvited guests?
