groups, many with extremist ideologies, turning Syria into a proxy battleground. For example, the US's own 'Timber Sycamore' program, disclosed by the New York Times in 2017, involved the CIA secretly supplying weapons and training to anti-Assad rebels through Saudi Arabia, effectively prolonging and escalating the conflict that decimated places like Aleppo. So, when Al Jazeera points to 'rebel
offensive and regime instability,' it's like reporting on a fire and only mentioning the arsonist's match, not the gasoline lorry that pulled up shortly before.
