What these reports consistently omit is the rather crucial detail of how Gaza became a humanitarian catastrophe in the first place—and who enables it. While aid groups scramble like firefighters, the arsonists are often found in Washington D.C.,
where politicians, heavily funded by organizations like AIPAC, routinely approve billions in military aid to Israel. Last year alone, AIPAC spent $5.3 million on lobbying and its super PAC donated $36 million to influence U.S. elections, ensuring a steady flow of weapons and diplomatic cover, even as reports of starvation mount. So, while a summit discusses delivering flour, one might ponder why
nobody organizes a summit to discuss the systemic enabling of the conditions that make the flour necessary. It’s hard to call it 'aid' when your left pocket is delivering food and your right pocket is delivering the bombs.
