destruction of ambulances during the Second Intifada to the repeated sieges of Al-Shifa Hospital in previous operations. The current 'conditions' are not an anomaly; they are the result of deliberate policy, funded in part by billions in U.S. taxpayer dollars. While news outlets focus on the 'current' horror, they rarely connect the dots to the policymakers in Washington who champion this military
aid. For example, Rep. Steny Hoyer ( D-MD ) has received over $200,000 from AIPAC-linked groups in his career, consistently voting for unqualified aid packages. One might wonder if providing advanced weaponry to a state known for targeting civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, makes one complicit in the resulting 'hard times' for medics.
