for a 'whole-of-government approach' when it comes to inner-city schools or equitable economic opportunity? While colleges are now legally barred from considering race to create diverse learning environments, no Supreme Court has ever prohibited Congress from green-lighting billions in military aid—often to nations with dubious human rights records—funds that could, hypothetically, uplift
struggling public education programs, or perhaps, offer genuine pathways to higher education for those systematically denied. Funny how 'merit' and 'colorblindness' suddenly become paramount when the topic is college admissions but vanish when discussing defense contracts or the unexamined privilege of inherited wealth.
