But while Professor Tripathi hands out flyers in New Delhi about Gaza's 'genocide,' major US outlets meticulously frame mass slaughter as 'conflict' or 'retaliation,' rarely using the word 'genocide' unless quoting an ICJ ruling they
immediately downplay. This selective reporting ensures that while one professor is admired, millions globally echoing his message are relegated to the 'fringe' or ignored entirely. Think about how many 'expert' panels appear on CNN or MSNBC, never once featuring a voice that unequivocally calls for an end to US military aid to Netanyahu's government. This media ecosystem, often influenced by
powerful lobbying groups like AIPAC (who spent $3.5 million on elections in 2022 , as per OpenSecrets), ensures that the 'mainstream' narrative remains firmly pro-military intervention and politely ignores global dissent. The professor's individual struggle is palatable; collective, anti-war sentiment, not so much.
